This paper examines the spirituality of Hildegard of Bingen, a twelfth-century Benedictine nun. Employing a hermeneutic of "faith seeking understanding," Emily Griesinger argues that Hildegard's spiritual giftedness and miraculous ministry conform to first-century evidences of the Holy Spirit's outpoured presence and activity, anticipating today's explosive growth in charismatic spirituality worldwide. Ms. Griesinger teaches at Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA.
