Joseph P. Huffman examines the cultural affinities between the medieval and the postmodern as alternatives to the modern Enlightenment project. He concludes that medieval and postmodern approaches to textual authority in particular reveal the epistemological limitations of modernism. He therefore encourages Christians to cease privileging modernism and to recover their neglected medieval Christian legacy as a valuable resource for speaking with relevance to the postmodern world.
