Monism and the Nature of Humans in Scripture

Joel B. Green

Joel B. Green argues that when the theoretical bases for widespread assumptions about New Testament support for body-soul dualism are re-examined, it becomes clear that the New Testament writings are remarkably friendly toward a monist account of the human person. Mr. Green is Associate Dean of the School of Theology and Professor of New Testament Interpretation at Asbury Theological Seminary.
