The twentieth century has witnessed radical shifts in Christian theology. Roger E. Olson offers some assessments of these changes and opines about the triumphs and tragedies they have brought about. According to this evaluation, a major achievement of twentieth century Christian theology is the renaissance of the doctrine of the Trinity, which became nearly otiose in the previous century. A major failure in twentieth century theology is the phenomenon of "Christian theologians" who deny "theistic realism." Mr. Olson is Professor of Theology at George W. Truett Theological Seminary of Baylor University and former editor of CSR.
