This essay examines some recent works by three prominent New Testament scholars, Willi Marxsen, Edgar V. McKnight and James Dunn, to find out how they construe theological truth claims. From the standpoint of theological realism, Jerry Walls argues that each of these fails the truth test at points of crucial theological significance. Mr. Walls teaches at Asbury Theological Seminary.
