Our goal as editors of this issue was to have Christian scholars, from a variety of disciplines, grapple with the constellation of issues surrounding multiculturalism. Our hope was that such a forum would illuminate for the Christian community what is often a confusing and emotionally-charged debate. Further, we hoped the discussion would model discussions of disagreement accompanied by what Richard Mouw's recent book calls "uncommon civility." We are happy to present to you a collection of essays which admirably fulfills our hopes.
