Evaluations of evidence for evolutionary theories of human origins are sensitive to antecedent probability judgments. On plausible assumptions evolutionary theories are improbable, given traditional ideas of divine omniscience. Donald Wacome suggests that consideration of God s revealed purposes makes reasonable a revised conception of omniscience and a reversal of the judgments as to the improbability of evolutionary theories. Mr. Wacome is Associate Professor of Philosophy at Northwestern College (Iowa).
