Trinity, Ecology and Panentheism

Thomas N. Finger

Many ecological theologians claim that Christianity's traditional transcendent God promotes destructive environmental attitudes. They propose a panentheistic deity as a corrective. Thomas Finger argues that a fully Trinitarian transcendent God escapes these criticisms and better promotes environmental values. Dr. Finger is Professor of Systematic and Spiritual Theology at Eastern Mennonite Seminary.
