The New Integrationists of Science and Religion

Bruce Reichenbach

Some contemporary theologians and scientists, rejecting both the conflict and independence models of relating religion to science, have proposed an integration model. Bruce Reichenbach explores and assesses the merits of Nancey Murphy's attempt to put theological method on a par with science, John Polkinghorne's emphasis on a common subject matter and Philip Hefner's integration on the level of aims and goals. Mr. Reichenbach teaches in the Department of Philosophy at Augsburg College.
