In this essay Jay Wesley Richards considers Gregory of Nazianzus's axiom that the unassumed is the unhealed, and the assumed is the healed in light of a contemporary question: "Can a male savior save women?" He argues that, armed with a few distinctions, the Christian can answer "Yes" and still accommodate some concerns which motivate this question. Mr. Richards is a Ph.D. candidate in theology at Princeton Theological Seminary.
