David Ray Griffin, while applauding Johnson's challenge to scientific naturalism, argues that a more promising proposal for reconciling science and Christian faith involves a distinction between maximal and minimal meanings of "scientific naturalism." Mr. Griffin teaches philosophy of religion and theology at Claremont School of Theology and Claremont Graduate University.
