Can a Christian be Coherently Morally Pro-Life and Politically Pro-Choice?

James S. Spiegel

Some Christians maintain that while abortion is morally wrong, it is appropriate for women to have the legal right to obtain an abortion. James Spiegel argues that this is not a logically coherent view, unless one is morally pro-life on biblical grounds alone and one believes the biblical evidence is minimally sufficient to justify the morally pro-life view. Mr. Spiegel is professor of philosophy at Taylor University.
