The Christian Scholar’s Review, a peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal, seeks articles of high standards of original scholarship and general interest dealing with all areas of scholarly interest. CSR was created by and is supported by Christian colleges and universities in order to stimulate and nurture a lively atmosphere of intellectual inquiry and scholarly communication among those who seek to pursue an academic calling as followers of Christ. Specifically, CSR has as its primary objective the integration of Christian faith and learning within and among the disciplines. As a secondary objective, the journal seeks to provide a forum for the discussion of the theoretical issues of Christian higher education.

Volume 40 (Fall 2010-Summer 2011) reflected the interdisciplinary character of the journal as the following representative articles indicate:  “Dante: A New Pauline Apostle?” “Recovering a Christian Understanding of Christian Higher Education: Carl H. Lundquist and Karl A Olsson,” “‘For the Sake of this One, God Has Patience with the Many’: Czeslaw Milosz and Karl Barth on God’s Patience, the Incarnation, and the Possibility of Belief,” “Inside-out or Outside-in? Lewis and Dostoyevsky on the ‘New Man,’” “Free to Muslim-Americans: Community, Gender, and Identity in Once in a Promised Land, The Taqwacores, and The Girl in the Tangerine Scarf,” “‘Such Inexplicable Pain’: Kon Ichikawa’s The Burmese Harp,” “Gran Torino and Moral Order,” and “The Mystery Dialectic in Cinema: Paradox, Mystery, Miracle.” In addition, CSR published five review essays and thirty-five book reviews.
